Peter C. Côté, M.D. earned B.S degrees in Biochemistry magna cum laude from Syracuse University and the State University of New York prior to graduating from Duke University Medical School in 1979. He completed a general internship and a pathology residency at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD achieving board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in 1984. While in the Navy he received fellowship training in Gynecologic and Breast pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, D.C. He has served as the Director of Pathology and Laboratory Services at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital from 1988 to the present time. While still serving in the Navy Reserves he was called to active duty in 1991 to serve as the Director of Ancillary Services at Combat Zone Fleet Hospital 15 in al Jubail, Saudi Arabia during Dessert Shield/Dessert Storm. He retired from the Naval Reserves as a Captain in 1996. Since 1997 he has served as the Medical Director and CEO of Central Pennsylvania Alliance Laboratory, York, PA, a laboratory alliance of five hospital systems in south/central PA of which WellSpan Health is a participant. Dr. Côté makes his home in Ephrata, PA.
